In all, the 2019 Kia Optima has three engine options for 2019. The LX and the S both get the same 2.4-liter engine.
On the turbo front, the EX gets its own 1.6-liter turbo engine and the top SX trim gets the most performance with its 2.0-liter turbo engine.
With the turbo engine options and even the standard 2.4-liter option, the Kia Optima is no slouch when it comes to power or performance. To start with, the 2.4-liter engine delivers 185 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque.
With the turbo engines, you get a lot more torque, which is what you will typically notice most in a street car. The 1.6-liter turbo of the EX gets slightly less power at 178 horsepower but more torque with 195 pound-feet of torque. The SX 2.0-liter turbo is even more impressive with 245 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque.
