If you get a Sorento, you will be able to tow at least 2,000 pounds, but it can go up to 5,000 pounds depending on how you configure it. Essentially, the 4-cylinder L and LX models which are front-wheel drive only give the Sorento its baseline 2,000 pounds of towing capacity. If you upgrade to any of the V6 models including the LX V6, EX, V6, SX, or SX Limited, then you will be able to tow up to 3,500 pounds with front-wheel drive.
