2020 Kia Sportage vs 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport

If you are looking for your next SUV, then we can help you out with our 2020 Kia Sportage vs 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport comparison. As of this writing, the 2020 Nissan Rogue Sport isn’t quite out yet, but we do know a lot about it, and we do know that it won’t be too much different than the current model. However, since it isn’t out yet, we can only speculate on things like price and fuel efficiency. If you look at the 2019 model as a baseline though, they are very competitive in both of these areas.
If you are already in love with the Sportage, and you are searching for your next car in the Akron, OH area, then let VanDevere Kia put you behind the wheel. Click the link below to see the new Sportage models that we have in stock.

2020 Kia Sportage

VS

2020 Nissan Rogue Sport

237 Max Horsepower 141
99 Cubic-Feet Passenger Volume 96 Cubic-Feet
30.7 Cubic-Feet Standard Cargo Room 22.9 Cubic-Feet
2,000 Pounds Towing Capability Not Available
How do the latest Sportage and Rogue Sport compare?
The Nissan Rogue Sport is underpowered, to say the least. Its 2.0-liter engine, which can only produce up to 141 horsepower, is the only option for this SUV. Even the base model Sportage LX gives you a 2.4-liter engine with 181 horsepower. To put this in perspective, the 2019 Kia Forte, which is a compact car, comes standard with a 2.0-liter engine that produces 147 horsepower. The Rogue Sport isn’t going to be doing anything too impressive in the “fun” or “acceleration” categories.
As you can see based on their interior volume, both the Sportage and the Rogue Sport are definitely in the same class, but the Sportage simply gives you more room. To top off that conversation, the Sportage also gives you more room for cargo behind the second-row seat with up to 30.7 cubic-feet of cargo room. If you fold down that second-row seat, you get up to 60.1 cubic-feet of cargo room!
Finally, we come to towing capability. You may not want to haul things all the time with your SUV, but it’s nice to have the ability. The Sportage can muscle up to 2,000 pounds as long as you have trailer brakes. The Rogue Sport, likely due to its weak engine, does not list any towing capability. If we were in your shoes, we would be getting a Sportage. With standard features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, lane keeping assist, forward collision avoidance assist, and more, you can’t go wrong.
