We have to admit, Telluride definitely sounds like a made-up word, but Kia is not in the habit of using entirely made up words for its vehicles. They didn’t provide any information on the name, so we had to do a little digging of our own. It turns out Telluride, despite being flagged by many spell-checkers, is an actual word that is derived from the element tellurium. A telluride is a mineral that contains tellurium and another compound most commonly gold or silver.
