Performance

The 2023 Sportage HEV takes everything you love about the gas-powered model and adds an even more efficient powertrain. With its 1.6-liter turbo GDI engine, 44kW permanent magnet electric motor, and high-output 1.49 kWh lithium-ion battery, the Sportage Hybrid is expected to deliver 226 horsepower combined. 

This hybrid system is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with a rotary style shifter, delivering a best-in-class combined fuel economy rating of 43 mpg.¹ And as a hybrid SUV, the Sportage Hybrid offers class-leading towing with a capacity of 2,000 pounds.
